The Friends of Auburn Avenue Research Library (FOAARL) hosted its inaugural book fair, last Saturday with Nationally Acclaimed Author Travis Hunter and Essence Magazine Editor / Author Charreah K. Jackson of the debut book, Boss Bride. 
The book fair was a lively event, with a number of independent authors, book vendors, story tellers, and workshops (on writing, marketing and publishing a book), as well as, face painting, food, fun and more.

The opening session included Carla Morrison of Sisters of Today and Tomorrow who hosted a SisterPoweron10! Sisters Circle, featuring Essence Magazine Editor Charreah K. Jackson (an Atlanta native of DeKalb County) where the women had a heart-felt talk about life, love, career choices and Oprah! The closing session was hosted by Written Magazine's Wine & Words Publisher Michelle Gipson, and featured Author / Filmmaker Travis Hunter  (a DeKalb County, Georgia resident) who discussed securing his first book deal with Random House, the true meaning behind his writing and a reading with him, Michelle, and two audience participants, for the highly anticipated sequel to "Married But Still Looking", "Married but Not Really".

About the FOAARL

The Friends of the Auburn Avenue Research Library (FOAARL) is a non-profit, community-based organization dedicated to supporting the Auburn Avenue Research Library (AARL); a special library of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library System.
The FOAARL cultivates a closer relationship between local, national, and international communities and the Research Library; increases public awareness of and expands the use of AARL; initiates, organizes, promotes and encourages cultural and educational activities; and, stimulates gifts, collections and endowments for AARL and Research Library activities.
